Procumbens Nana Juniper is one of the most common junipers used in the retail bonsai industry. Junipers are widely considered as one of the most common plants used in bonsai. These species were featured in the movie Karate Kid. In fact, most beginners just learning about the art think that this tree IS a "bonsai tree". However, bonsai is an art, not a specific species of tree and can be practiced using almost any tree or plant. In my opinion, Junipers are one of the most rewarding plants to work on. They have nice bark and resemble pine trees. Their branches can easily be turned into deadwood and bleached white with Jin Seal to create a weathered look.
